It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our dear Mom, Shirley Ann Jess, with her loving daughters by her side.
She is survived by her four daughters, Teresa (Dale), Cheryl, Karen and Rosalinde; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Jeremy), Allesha (Chris); two grandsons, Adam, and James and four great-granddaughters, Kaitlynn, Madison, Avaya and Emma. She is predeceased by her parents, Herman and Helen Bathgate; brother, Doug Bathgate and her husband of 51 years, James Ross Jess.
Shirley was a very loving and caring mom, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was the type of Mom our friends always wished they could have.
Shirley was born and raised in Chilliwack, she moved to Prince George in 1966 to raise her family, moving back to Chilliwack in 1986 to help her mother after her dad passed away.
Shirley had many talents including nursery school teacher, banker, crafts woman and being an inspiration to many people.
We would like to thank all the lovely people at Parkholm. We would also like to thank the Home Care workers who were very special and went above and beyond for our Mom. Thank you Judy D, Janice, Dandy, Erin, Evelyn, Jennifer, Brenda and everyone else whom we forgot to mention. We couldn’t have done this without you, we love you all.
There is no funeral by request.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Shirley’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Society of BC or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
