Selma SIEBERT

Selma Siebert passed away on February 13, 2006. She was born in Laird, Saskatchewan, the second child of John H. and Katherine Siebert. In May of 1940, the Siebert family moved to Sardis, BC. Selma attended elementary school at South Sumas (now Greendale Elementary) and later graduated from Chilliwack Senior High School. Following graduation, Selma moved to Vancouver to embark on a career. She worked as a medical receptionist, first for an orthomaligist and then entered into a 36 yr association with Dr. Miller, an orthopedic surgeon. With Selma’s condo strategically located near the Vancouver Airport, Selma’s extended family benefited from her hospitality and “taxi” service to and from the airport.

Preceded by her parents, and brother, Albert Siebert, Selma is survived by her brother, John (Rose) Siebert and family- Justin, Lianne, and RaeLee; brother Albert’s family- Linda Culos, Carole Jackson, Andrew Siebert and Doreen Siebert; sister, Frieda (Peter) Nickel and family- Sharon (Ken) Doerksen, Jim (Jeannie) Nickel, Dianne (Allan) Richardson, Darlene (Allan) Hilton, Susan (John) Braun’s family and Jerry Nickel.

Additionally twenty-two great nephews and nieces will greatly miss their beloved Aunt Selma.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 11:00 am from Greendale M. B. Church, 6550 Sumas Prairie Rd., Sardis, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Bible Society in Selma’s memory.
