Ruth Steinwand (nee Schmidt) of Chilliwack B.C., passed away peacefully on January 11, 2008 in hospital as a result of post-operative complications following open heart surgery. Her family was at her side.
Mourning her loss are her loving husband of 59 years, Ervin Steinwand; her daughter:Dianne (Shaun) Mulrooney; her son: Waverley (Trish) Steinwand; and daughter Lorna (Doug) Lemna; six grandchildren:Bryan (Jamey) Mulrooney, Darren (Gina) Mulrooney, Kristen and Tara Lemna and Maddy and Jess Steinwand; and two great-grandchildren Ewan and Cooper Mulrooney.
She is also survived by her four brothers: Ruben (Lorraine) Schmidt, Norman (Rose) Schmidt, Herman (Inez) Schmidt and Hilbert (Mary Barlow) Schmidt.
Ruth was a long-time church member who was involved in many church ministries. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and vacationing with her friends.
She will be dearly missed by her family but they rejoice in the knowledge that she is now with her Savior.
A viewing will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home, Chilliwack between 7:30 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 17, 2008.
Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Chilliwack Evangelical Missionary Church, 9310 Williams Street in Chilliwack.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of B.C. or to the Chilliwack Evangelical Missionary Church memorial fund.
