Ruth Emily HALL

August 12, 2004

Ruth Emily Hall born September 23, 1923, passed away peacefully August 12, 2004 in Chilliwack.

Predeceased by her husband Monty Hall, her parents; Smith Harding Nickerson and Blanche Vernard Cosman, three brothers; Harding V., Gardeth H., and Alvin N. (Ed), three sisters; Velma H., Alma A., and Mary T. (Mamie).

Ruth leaves to mourn her passing, two children; Matt (Jill) Hall, Sue (Owen) Hall, four grandchildren; Luke, Sarah, Isabella and Isaac as well as relatives across Canada and the state of Alabama.

Ruth was born and raised in Forest Glen, N.S. where she completed her grade schooling and furthered her education in Nursing whereby she graduated and received her Diploma in 1945. In the1958, Ruth moved to Vancouver and worked at Shaughnessy Hospital.

Shortly after Ruth met the love of her life, Monty in Hope, BC and went on to marry Monty in 1961. As a dedicated mother, Ruth took 12 years off from her job to raise her family. Ruth’s love and commitment and dedication for her family extended to her grandchildren, animals and flowers. She loved life as a whole.

In the early 1970s, Ruth went back to doing what she loved most, caring for people. She gained employment with the Chilliwack Hospital Extended Care Unit where her love for the elderly could be compared to the love she had for her own family. In 1987 following her employment, Ruth decided it was time to retire.

A strong-willed, independent, vivacious woman, Ruth was always ahead of her time and lived life the way she wanted.

The family would like to extend their thanks to Dr. Bull and the nursing staff on the 4th floor for their help and kindness throughout Ruth’s stay. A very special thank you to Karen & Roz, Rod & Mary.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements entrusted to Vedder View Funeral Services and Cemetery.
