Ruth (Auntie) FREY

September 8, 2004

Ruth Frey (Auntie) passed away peacefully on September 8, 2004 at Chilliwack General Hospital, in her 92nd year.

She was an avid animal lover and gave to many young people her knowledge and expertise in the handling of horses, which was her great passion.

She also took great pride in her English-style garden and loved the song ‘The Rose’. She also spent many hours knitting toques and mittens for children in the remote areas of the North. The world sure needed more people like my Mother.

Last August, she attended the 50th reunion of the famous New Westminster Salmonacs Lacrosse team, which won the Canadian Championship in the east under adverse conditions, her son Don, was a member. All the players were glad to see her and wished her well.

Sadly she will be missed by her son Don; grandchildren, Dean (Melinda) of Halifax, N.S., Marke (Laureen) of Chilliwack, and Shellie Yanke (Gregg) of North Vancouver; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Janiel, Rylea, Kale, Morrison, Kirkland, and Evan.

She was predeceased by her husband Albert Frey; nephew Freddy Morelli; brother William Lear (Bill), and Mario Morelli.

A family and friendship gathering will be held at the Tea Room at Henderson’s from 1-3 p.m., Friday, Sept. 17, 2004.
