Passed away peacefully at Cascade Hospice (Chilliwack BC) at the age of 79 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Roy was born in Unity Saskatchewan and was the fourth child of six to Harvey and Agatha Bevans. Roy is survived by daughter Tina (Bruce) and son Tom (Tracy) and his grandkids Kianna, Riley, Kyle, Kate, Ty and Kanda.
Son David Renard (Stacey), son Dean Renard (Colleen), daughter Karen Renard and grandkids Adam, Jessa, Mary, Rebecca, Kali, and Keif. Sisters Marg (Russ) Harding, Elsie (Al) Klingbel, and brother Robbie (Marjorie) Bevans.
Roy was predeceased by his wife Irene, (of 48yrs), and brothers Jim and Dale Bevans.
Roy and his wife Irene moved to Chilliwack in 1969 where Roy worked as a construction worker/framer- building Pierce Lake Correctional Center. Roy then became a correctional officer and was employed 28+ years in corrections. He was also an auxiliary RCMP and a volunteer fire fighter.
Roy loved to golf, fish, garden, play/coach hockey and go curling in his free time. Roy also loved to go hunting with his son Tom.
A celebration of life will be held at the Vedder Legion Branch #280, Saturday August 15th , from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, please come join us to share a memory and have a drink!
