Rosemarie (Rose) CAMERON

Rose Cameron of Popkum B.C. passed away on Thursday August 8, 2002 at the age of 51 Years old after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Rose was born on September 13, 1950 in Edmonton, Alberta. She grew up in Drumheller, Alberta and eventually moved to Sparwood B.C. She was employed for 20 years with Westar Mining until the mine closure. She returned to school where she earned her Human Services Worker Certificate from EKCC.For the past six years, Rose was employed at Mountain Institution as a Correctional Officer. Rosie loved to travel and was fortunate to visit Fiji and Barbados. She loved to save change and collect coins. She lived life to the fullest and savored her favorite vices. She loved her pets and her eclectic menagerie of roosters. She spent many enjoyable hours watching the birds and the Para gliders from her kitchen window.


Those left to mourn her passing include many friends, colleagues and acquaintances. From her family she leaves to mourn her husband Ken Pede; her mother Linda Mucci of Drumheller, Alberta; her daughter Melissa Cameron, her Son-in-Law Steve Cameron and her grand daughter Alexandra Cameron, all of Drumheller, Alberta. Her three children by love, James Pede and Michael Pede of Burnaby B.C. and Amy Pede of Chilliwack B.C. She also leaves to mourn two Aunts and their families. A Celebration of Rose’s Life will be held on Wednesday, August 14, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Chapel in Chilliwack B.C.


If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Rose Cameron Trust Fund set up with HSBC Chilliwack. Donations will be used for the purchase of a special airbed for the Palliative ward of the Chilliwack General Hospital.
