In Loving Memory of Ronald Norman Jacob who passed away with his family by his side on July 3, 2010 at the Royal Columbian Hospital at the age of 71 years.

Ron had hopes that his heart surgery on April 1, 2010 would allow him to enjoy several more years; however, he later developed an infection around the new valve. He braved a second surgery and while his spirit wanted more time on this earth, his body was not able to provide it.

Ron was proud of his family and is survived by his wife Sandra; daughters: Janice (Jason), Linda (Darrell) and Katherine (Richard); grandchildren: Steven, Douglas, Dennis, and Danielle; step-grandchildren: Jesica, Kameron, Daniel, and Amanda.

Ron was predeceased by his daughter Karen Elizabeth, father and mother Ray and Hylda Jacob, and his sister, Marlene Docksteader.

In earlier years, Ron was a talented athlete, active in baseball, curling, hockey, basketball, volleyball, track and field. He was, in later years, an enthusiastic spectator at many sports activities particularly where his family was involved. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, winemaking, woodworking, and his work in the Kiwanis Club. He spent many happy summers at the family cabin on Shuswap Lake.

Thank you to all whose love and support is helping us through this sad time.

A Celebration of Ron’s Life will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Avenue, Chilliwack.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Kiwanis Children’s Charities.
