Ronald James Fredrick 'Ron' Johnson

We are saddened to announce the passing of Ronald (Ron) James Fredrick Johnson after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease.
Ron was born May 27, 1945 in Chilliwack to Fred and Alice Johnson (nee Anderson).
He left high school early to work at the Spring Creek logging camp, and it was during this time he met his future wife Heather Thomson. Ron and Heather were married at the
Chilliwack United Church in January of 1965 and settled into their farm on McGuire Road. Their son Kevin was born shortly after, then daughter Tammy in 1971.
Along with their own children, Ron and Heather also raised several foster children during this time including Gabriel George, and Shirley and Jimmy Sam.
Ron had several business ventures over the years including a logging camp at Cracroft Island, T&R Contracting, Century Building products (which now operates as Canex Building Supplies) and JK Crane Truck Service which Kevin still operates today.
Ron enjoyed hanging out in the shop with his buddies Jim Boa and Nyron Milne, spending time at the cabin, listening to Elvis music and watching john Wayne movies and Fox News! He was a loving Papa to River, Reid, Ashlyn, Tristan, Cody and Tyler as well as several foster grandkids.
Ron is survived by his loving wife Heather, son Kevin (Holli) Johnson of Abbotsford, and daughter Tammy (Brad) Morrison of Chilliwack as well as his sisters Bev, Carol (Ron), Gladys, Anne (Ken) and his brother David (Kim) along with several step brothers and sisters.
He was predeceased by his sisters Linda and Sandy.
A celebration of Ron's life will take place later in the fall, and the family asks in lieu of flowers please make a donation to the BC Alzheimer's Society.
