Ron was born and raised in Chilliwack and spent the majority of his life here. Ron worked at several occupations including logging as a youth, truck driving, York farms and, finally real estate sales and appraising where he spent 47 years as a member of the Appraisal Institute of Canada. (AIC).
After 10 years in Kelowna and Edmonton obtaining practical experience Ron returned to his hometown in 1982 continuing in the appraisal industry eventually purchasing his own Company, Fraser Valley Appraisals, in 1987. He retired in 2017.
In his early years Ron was involved with Babe Ruth baseball and later became involved with an Executive position with the Appraisal Institute of Canada. Ron enjoyed Steelhead fishing on the Vedder in his early life and later got hooked on golf. He was a member of Chilliwack Golf and Country Club for 20 years. Ron enjoyed Rotary and spent his whole life doing service work. Ron was a member of Bill W. (AA) for over 40 years.
Ron was predeceased by two sisters Sheila and Danelia, a brother Ed and his first wife June. Ron leaves behind his life partner, wife and best friend of 47 years, Donna, Daughter Michelle (Kevin) of Penticton, Son Ron Jr. (Dawn) and 2 grandchildren (Lauren and Nathan) of PEI, Step daughters Sandra (Eyas) of New Westminster and Charlene (Pete) Jones from Kelowna (Wes and Tammy) and (Haley and Layne) and sister Linda (Len) Evans of Sidney. Ron will be greatly missed by family and friends. Christmas and Thanksgiving will never be the same without Ron making the Turkey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday June 30th at 2pm amongst friends and Family at Midtown Baptist Church.
