Rollie Edward SEIFERT

June 24, 2004

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, brother and grandfather after a brief illness. Rollie passed away peacefully at home on June 24, 2004 at the age of 74.

He has left behind his wife, Betty; daughter, Lynn (Miyagawa); sons, Keith, Gary and Brad; grandchildren, Kristy and Kyle, sisters, Sallie and Mildred (Whalley); as well as many friends in the Chilliwack community.

He was born in Quebec City and lived in numerous places across Canada as his promotions with Henry Birks & Sons over the period of 26 years required. After his retirement from Birks, he owned and operated the Spa Motel and Gift Shop in Harrison Hot springs from 1976-1990. He instilled a love of the outdoors to his family, golfing and fishing this great country from end to end.

Along with being an avid golfer, Rollie was a dedicated volunteer driver with the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. He took pleasure in making the trips to treatment in Vancouver or Surrey more pleasant and, as he had been told, sometimes downright enjoyable for the patients. In addition, his contributions were recognized with the Chilliwack Community Spirit Award and the Government of Canada 2001 International Year of Volunteers. For the past couple of years, he devoted his tireless energy and compassion as caregiver to his wife, Betty.

In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Alzheimer Society or a favourite charity would be greatly appreciated.

At his request, he will be buried in the Chilliwack Anglican Cemetery with a private family gathering at a later date.
