Roland CARTER

Roland Carter passed away on February 13, 2005. Roland was born in the town of North Allerton, North Yorkshire, England. He was the eighth of nine children.

Roland is survived by his life partner, Lorna Will; daughter Pamela; son Philip; and sister Betty (Alex) of Summerland, plus many other relatives.

He was predeceased by seven brothers, and his parents.

Roland served in the English Army during the Second World War. He was taken prisoner and escaped narrowly missing recapture. Roland came to Canada and worked for the Alberta Government for 10 years. He then moved to B.C.. and worked for the Delta School Board until his retirement in 1986.

A service honouring his life will be held at Cottonwood Retirement Village Clubhouse, 7610 Evans Rd., Gate 3, on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005 at 2 p.m. Padre Fred Tassinari officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Pacific Coast Autism Foundation, 4746-57th St., Delta, B.C. V4K 3C9 would be greatly appreciated.
