June 22, 1955 – September 25, 2022
Rob entered his heavenly home and into the presence of God Sept 25, 2022, while on tour in Saskatchewan. He died suddenly and peacefully while preparing for a Sunday morning service, with a guitar at his side and his bible in his lap. He is pre-deceased by his father in 1999 and leaves his mom, Hannah, sisters, Doreen, Lori, (Eli) Barb, (John) and Sherry, (Mike), many nieces and nephews, a large extended family, and a multitude of friends around the world, who have been impacted and changed by the message he carried and the authentic life he lived telling the story of love and redemption through song and the spoken and written word.
Rob grew up on a farm in Chilliwack in a happy healthy home. Even as a very young boy he displayed a sensitive heart to God. He showed a love for nature and a keen ear to learn his purpose on earth. He wrote that he felt called, chosen, and sent so counted it the highest honour to be God’s co-laborer these past 35 years in the work of His kingdom on earth. In his travels he visited stunning vistas, had exciting adventures, performed on big and small stages, spoke to hundreds in large auditoriums and the single beggar on the street and interacted with so many beautiful people who are his living testimony.
Rob sojourned this life as a songwriter, singer, speaker and musicianary, a name he coined himself to give account of his job description. In 2021 he wrote a book, The Intimate Adventure. In it he tells us to: “keep to the path, fulfill our mission, and see our quest through to its end.” To the end Rob fixed his eyes on Jesus, never wavering from the intimate adventure of a God-filled life on his way to going home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday October 29/2022 at 9325 Mainstreet Church, in Chilliwack – 1:30 p.m.
