Lawrie, Robert (Rob) Edward

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert (Rob) Edward Lawrie, on June 10, 2021 at Chilliwack General Hospital.

Rob was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on October 22, 1929. He lived a long and full life, in part logging big timber on the west coast of British Columbia. Rob also taught forestry at BCIT, worked in Indonesia, and successfully ran his own business for many years. He had a deep love of music and reading and even wrote a novel. A longtime resident of Chilliwack, Rob recalled the great flood of 1948 and being conscripted from high school to aid in flood rescue efforts.

Rob is predeceased by his parents Jack and Dorothy Lawrie, his sisters Joan Lawrie, Patricia (Norm) Bell, his wife Beverly Lawrie and stepson, Alexander (Sandy) Lock.

Rob is survived by his wife, Ida Lawrie, her children Jacquie (Gordon) Worthing, Candy (Alex) Ferguson, and Paul Fuller, his son John (Debbie) Lawrie, daughters Alayna (Ben) Josephson, Glennis (Ron) Tetrault, Laurie (Eric) Laughlin and their children Jennifer (Darren), Chris (Adele) and Allison. Rob (Sundown) loved his grandchildren. He had an incredibly special relationship and close connection with his granddaughter, Allison. They shared their deep love of music and singing together.

Special thanks to Dr. Ekaette and the caring nurses of Fourth Floor South of the Chilliwack General Hospital. No service by request.
