Robert Poole Millard late of Chilliwack, passed away November 3, 2002 at the age of 83 years. He was born July 13, 1919 in St. Stephen, N.B.
He worked for Dairyland for many years and retired from the Fraser Valley Milk Producers’ Association in 1984. He was a longtime member of the United Church and taught Sunday School at the Mt. Shannon United Church for 25 years. Robert was a graduate of Magee High School in Vancouver, and UBC with a degree in agriculture. He grew a large garden, was an avid stamp collector, liked to fix old tube radios and TV’s for himself and other people, loved animals and particularly cherished several cats throughout his lifetime.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002 at 1 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cemeteries. Pastor Fred Robbins officiating. Reception to follow at The Birchwood.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Muriel; daughter Lorna Millard (David Olsen) of Errington; sister Jean Williams of South Surrey; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as his close friend Alice Goodin.
He was predeceased by his twin brother Ross Millard; and sister Dorcas Shenton.
