1933-2022  ~  Our family mourns the loss of our exceptional g-pa, grandpa and dad, Robert McFadden aka BOB.
On April 20th, 2022, he passed peacefully at Chilliwack General Hospital on the 5th floor north side. The family would like to thank all the staff and Dr. Enns for the wonderful, kind care that he received. Special mention to the Lynnwood, where he stayed for the last 5 months of his life, and Susie who helped him navigate the way to the dining room!
Dad was born in North Bay in 1933, during the depression. When he was 17 he enlisted in the air force, staying with the forces for over 23 years. When he retired from the forces, he then worked for many years for the regional district in Chilliwack until he retired.
Dad met his wife (Bernie) in Winnipeg. He was stationed in Moose Jaw at the time and commuted to Winnipeg to see her. They married in 1952, and 10 months later Sandy was born, then Barb shortly afterwards.
Dad loved to play golf, and was an active member of the Chilliwack Golf and Country Club. Dad was active in many other activities including, bowling, curling, gardening and bridge.
He made many enjoyable trips to Maui, Florida, Palm Springs, and Ontario with family and friends.
Left to mourn his passing is daughter Barb, daughter Sandy and husband Paul, grandson Jesse, and great grandsons Nathan and Riley, brother Jack and wife Eva and many numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a private celebration of dad's life in the summer.
