Robert Lange passed away on October 7, 2008 at the age of 85 years old in Chilliwack, BC. He was born in Todwigin, Poland on January 10, 1923. In 1930, Robert’s parents immigrated to Canada where the family settled on a homestead in Medstead, SK.

At the age of 21, Robert enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces for one year.

In 1947, Robert purchased farm land in the Kleskun Lake area near Grande Prairie, AB, and married Verna Antonio on October 26, 1950. He continued to farm for 42 years and raise his family.

Robert’s passion in life was birds. His most beloved passion was racing pigeons. He valued his family, and enjoyed sharing stories with many friends.

In 1990, Robert and Verna retired and moved to Chilliwack, BC, where they lived for 18 years.

Robert will be sadly missed by his wife Verna, daughter Dorothy (James Doll), and six sons; Bill, Dan (Kerry), Ernie (Liz), Henry (Liz), Robert (Maureen), and Joe (Connie), 19 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He is survived by seven siblings; Erna Voss, Grande Prairie, AB; Herbert (Pat), Brandon, MB; George (Helen), Saskatoon, SK; Lydia (Dennis Hagen), Medstead, SK; Emma (Lyle Marshall), Vernon, BC; Dorothea (John Dryer), Calgary, AB; Kathy (Bernie Klemp), Mayerthrope, AB.

He was predeceased by his parents Elizabeth and Adolph Lange, and brother Andrew, and two brothers-in-law; Ernie Voss, and Mike Antonio, and sister-in-law Nellie Chledowski.

There will be a small gathering at the residence of Robert and Verna’s on Saturday, October 11, 2008 from 1:00 - 4:00 pm.

A memorial service for Robert will be held in Grande Prairie, AB at a later date.
