Bob Burr passed away peacefully on Friday, December 16, 2011 at Cascade Lodge, Chilliwack at the age of 91.
Bob was born November 19, 1920 in Edmonton, AB and was raised in the farming district of Irma, AB. In 1943, he enlisted in the Canadian Army; Bob served for 29 years in Canada, West Germany, and Egypt. His family traveled with him everywhere except for his time served in Egypt.
In 1960, Bob settled in Chilliwack where he spent the rest of his days. He was an avid swimmer and loved to bowl, dance and golf.
Bob is survived by daughter Carol (Everet) Kinsman; sons Ron (Kathy) Burr and Gary (Bev) Burr; grandchildren Robert and Donna Kinsman, Robyn (Chris) Nightingale, Brian (Kristen) Burr and Krystal (Jeremy) Sobie; great-grandchildren Allysha and Serena Kinsman, Kiera Sobie; and step-great-grandchildren Alyssa and Nya Friesen. Bob is predeceased by his wife Evelyn.
A Memorial Service will be held in the New Year at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made in Bob’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
