July 5, 1938

Bob passed away peacefully October 29, 2009 with his wife, daughter, son, grandson by his side after a courageous 5 month battle with cancer. Born in Viscount, Saskatchewan, “Slinger” spent his childhood years in Chilliwack, BC. He was predeceased by his daughter Kelly-Dee, parents Earl and Mary Brown, his beloved sister Gladys Brunn. Survived by his loving wife Normandie, his children Charlene, Jamie (Marlene); stepsons Randy (Courtney), Todd (Liza); his adored grandchildren Matthew, Scatha, Sydney; sisters Evelyn (Slim), Elsie (Roger); brothers Ron, Ray (Madeline), Vern (Marilyn); cousins; as well as much-loved nieces and nephews.

Bob had a tremendous impact on everyone who knew him and took great pride in sharing his knowledge of business and of his favourite leisure activities such as coaching youth sports, fishing, hunting and working around the cabin. All who knew him will remember his humour and love for life. He will greatly be missed by his extended family, friends and business associates.

The family wish to thank the VGH and St. Paul’s Hospital Palliative team for their honesty and compassion.

A celebration of life will be held at the Coast Plaza Hotel 1763 Comox Street, Vancouver BC on November 15, 2009 1pm to 4pm.
