Rita Eleanor Wensler

December 27, 1944 - January 28, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Rita Eleanor Wensler (nee Fulford). Rita passed away peacefully in her home on January 28, 2022.
Rita was born on December 27, 1944 in Hartham, Jamaica to loving parents John and Jesse Fulford. The family immigrated to Canada in 1948. In 1962, Rita met the love of her life, Kurt Wensler who was in training with the Canadian Armed Forces in Chilliwack, BC. They were soon married and Rita took on the roll of a military wife, looking after the family on her own for long periods of time.
After living at military bases in Canada and overseas, Kurt and Rita moved back to Chilliwack where Rita continued her caregiving career at Chilliwack General Hospital where she worked for 35 years.
Rita was an active member of the Ladies of the Nile, PEO, and a dedicated member of Cooke's Presbyterian Church. Rita greatly enjoyed her active involvement to the church over the years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Rita was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Kurt Wensler.
She will be sadly missed by her daughters Kimberly Wensler and Jacqueline (Mauro) Rabisi, grandchild Marina (Ash) Rabisi, great-grandchildren Marley and Oakland Rabisi, brothers Raymond (Anne-Marie) Fulford, Richard Fulford, and Robert (Margaret) Fulford.
Celebration of Life Will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday August 5, 2022 at Cooke's Presbyterian Church, 45825 Wellington
Avenue, Chilliwack BC.
