BOSMA; RITA. Rita passed away suddenly on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, after living all of her 61 years with cognitive and physical disabilities. Already at the age of 3 months, she underwent radiation treatments at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, and by 9 years old was admitted to the Woodlands School in New Westminster. A period of time was also spent at the Tranquille School near Kamloops, and at the time of her passing she was living in a wonderful and caring group home in Maple Ridge. Finally free from all her severe limitations, she is now whole and well in the presence of the Lord. Rita will be lovingly remembered by her father, Haye Bosma, her siblings Anne (& Mike) Feenstra, Jack (& Tracy) Bosma, Richard (& Judy) Bosma, Edith (& Drew) Ryder, and Cathy (& Dave) Vaags, as well as two generations of nieces and nephews. Also saddened by her loss are Karen and the staff from the group home where Rita resided for the past 17 years. Rita was predeceased by her caring mother, Truce Bosma, in 2005. A celebration of Rita's home-going will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013, at the Cornerstone Christian Reformed Church at 9800 McNaught Rd., Chilliwack. If so desired, donations in Rita's memory may be made to the Bethesda Christian Association for the Handicapped. Online condolences may be offered at www.woodlawn-mtcheam.ca.
