Richard “Dick” Heppner passed away peacefully at Heritage Village on the morning of March 4, 2012, at the age of 84. Dick was born on September 16, 1927 in Archie County, Manitoba, the eldest son of Deitrich and Anna Heppner.

Dick left the woods to work with R.O. Johnston in Chilliwack and eventually became a partner in the fuel-delivery business.

Dick retired in 1984 to their family home on Sardis park. During his retirement he enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, playing cards, camping and his “best-cat” Ryan. He enjoyed a life-long appreciation of cars.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, his sister Anne Hildebrandt, and his brother Abram “Hap” Heppner.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 65 years Dorothy; sons Gord (Lin) and Jim; granddaughters Joanna Hunt and Janett (James) Williams; great-grandchildren Anastasia, Jacob and Julia Williams; sisters and brothers Ed (Viola) Heppner, Mary (Lloyd) Johnston, Frieda (Harry) Winkles, Ernie (Leslie) Heppner; sister-in-law Linda Heppner and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Bradley Center and Heritage Village for the care they provided for Dick.
