1926-2021 ~ Richard passed away peacefully at Cascade Lodge in his ninety fifth year. He was born in Germany and as a young man came to Canada searching for a better life. He found it in a wonderful small town called Chilliwack.
Richard worked as a bartender in the Copper Room at the Harrison Hot Springs Hotel for twenty four years. That's where he met the love of his life Dorothy (1928-2013).
After raising a family he took on a new profession and worked for the Chilliwack School District as a bus driver for sixteen years retiring at sixty years old. Richard loved his family, soccer, playing squash, swimming (winning eleven medals at the BC senior games) and his Honda Goldwing motorcycle which he put on an airplane and flew to Europe touring all over.
Richard was a kind gentle loving man and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son Richard (Margaret), daughter Karen (Len), grandkids Richard (Cassandra), Stephanie (Kevin) and great grandkids Richard, Dorothea & Anna.
We would like to thank Dr. Wolff and Cascade Lodge Care Home for all the wonderful years of care for our dad. For Richards wishes there will be a small family service.
