Richard Gill passed away peacefully May 4, 2016 at the age of 83 at Chilliwack General Hospital, surrounded by family.

Born in Portugal February 13, 1933, Richard moved to Montreal at the age of seven with his younger brother and parents. His family later moved to Brazil and returned to Canada when Richard was a teenager. He graduated from North Vancouver High School, travelled a bit and entered the Air Force. He found his way to the West Coast where he served as First Mate on the tugboat, Invanhoe. It was during this time he met the love of his life, Pat Toop. They married September 17, 1960 and settled in Chilliwack, where they raised two sons, Vic and Dave.

Over the years, Richard farmed with his father-in-law, worked with various companies in the food processing industry and finished his career working with his two sons in the RV and construction businesses.

Richard loved to spend time with his family, fish at Horse Lake, sail, paint, carve, play bocce and lend a hand to anyone who needed it. He never missed a game that his boys or grandson played in.

Richard is lovingly remembered by Pat, his wife of 55 years, sons, Vic (Malinda), Dave (Leah), grandson Landon (Amanda), brother Bill (Sandra) and many more close family members and friends.

The family would like to thank Drs. Nagdee, Bartel, and Bull along with the amazing 5th floor nursing staff of the Chilliwack General Hospital for their compassion and outstanding care during Richard's stay.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, June 11 at 2:00pm at the Atchelitz Hall,
