Rebecca Jean Hetherington

August 7, 1953 - May 26, 2022
Rebecca (Becky) was ushered into the presence of her Lord & Saviour, Jesus Christ, the early morning hours of Thursday, May 26th, 2022.
She will be missed by her friends as well as siblings: Steve Hetherington, Ruth (Mathew) Jaycox, Judith Hetherington, & Jon (Luz) Hetherington; as well as many nieces & nephews and their families.
Becky was the oldest of five children born to Marion (Phillips) & Garfield Hetherington, August 7th, 1953 in Moncton, New Brunswick.
After spending some time in Germany, the Hetherington family settled in Yarrow, B.C., where Becky attended Yarrow Elementary School 1959 onward. She later graduated with highest honors from Sardis Jr./Sr. Secondary School in 1971.
Becky's desire to become a teacher led her to pursue further education at Trinity Western & Simon Fraser Universities, where she met some"life-long" friends.
Becky developed a talent for calligraphy and used her talent often in sharing her beautifully crafted poems and cards, with others. Along with her professional calligraphy, she enjoyed many years of teaching ESL (English as a Second Language).
Health challenges early in life eventually brought Becky to reside at Central City Lodge in Vancouver, B.C., where she passed away.
In spite of enduring years of pain, Becky was happy to share with others; her smile, her compassion, her sense of humor, her sharp memory & especially her love of Jesus! Becky was predeceased by her parents Marion Jean Hetherington, January 2007, and Garfield Harold Hetherington, September 2014.
Her remains will be laid to rest beside her parents at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery, 4465 Watson Road, Chilliwack, B.C. where a graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m., August 8th, 2022
