Raymond Henry Miller passed away peacefully on April 7, 2021 in Langley, B.C. at age 94. Ray is survived by son Sandy (Gerry); daughters Barbara (Peter), Penny (Todd), Stephanie (Pat); grandchildren Craig, Jennifer-Lee (Adam), Dason, Sandra (Ivan), Michael (Theola), Carina (Barney), Daphne and Candice.
Also lovingly remembered by his brother Fred (Ruth), dear care support friend Cathy, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Ray was predeceased by his wife Isabel in 2013, his parents Heinrich and Teha, sister Freida, brothers Donald and Edward.
Ray was born November 25, 1926 in Plotstsk, Poland. He came over to Canada at age 3 with his parents, sister and brother on the Empress of Scotland. The family initially settled in Saskatchewan then in 1941 moved to Vancouver, B.C. Although Ray's former schooling ended at grade 8 he was a lifelong learner and mastered many trades and skills: farming, fishing, construction, logging, automotive, plumbing and electrical. He always had keen interest in space, technology - always delving into how things worked.
Ray met his sweetheart Isabel in 1947 and married in 1949. They decided to move to Chilliwack in 1954 to raise their family. Ray and Isabel so enjoyed social visits and travelling with family and friends throughout the years. In later years he so lovingly cared for Isabel during her illness.
Ray was a Member of the Canadian Order of Foresters in earlier years and very involved with many of the bingos, socials and dances. Many dear friendships were developed there.
Ray will always be remembered as such a hard worker right into his 90's. Ray was a friend and a great Handyman ~ Helper to Many!!
A graveside service was held April 16, 2021.
