It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Raymond Gilbert Taylor on October 16, 2012 in Chilliwack, BC, at the age of 71.

Ray was born on April 4, 1941 in Biggar, Saskatchewan and moved to Chilliwack with his family at an early age.  As a young man, he fell in love with and married Jacqueline (Jean) Kelly. The next fifty-three years were spent raising and spending precious time with their two children and four grandchildren (and numerous pets!).

Ray was a hard worker, at one time working three jobs to support his family.  His children loved to accompany him on the milk truck and the gravel truck.  In 1975, he started his own excavating company known as RG Taylor Excavating Ltd. which he so diligently worked at up to three weeks before his passing.  He was known for his integrity and made many dear friends during that time.

Ray’s son Rob will miss riding their Harley Davidson bikes together, his grandson Cameron will miss their annual hunting trips.  Ray also enjoyed quading, fishing and possibly sitting on mall benches for hours while Jean shopped for their family. Most often his friends and family could find him puttering and entertaining in his “man-garage”.

Ray will be sadly missed by his loving wife Jean, their daughter Debbie, son Robert (Laene), grandchildren Cameron, Shannon, Cori-Rae, Shane and three great-grandchildren along with numerous family and friends.

By request, there will be no service.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
