Raymond E. Cherry passed away peacefully on January 7, 2013 at Chilliwack at the age of 94 years. Ray was born on June 24, 1918 in Humboldt, SK. Following his discharge from the Canadian Army Signal Corps, Ray began his long career with BC Telephone Co. Throughout his life his interests included fishing, carpentry, fixing clocks and radios and being with his family. Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Alice; children: Lynda (Murray) Brown of Bassano, Alberta and Norma (Dennis) Keyte of Peace River, Alberta; grandchildren: Chris (Sonja) Stinson of Vancouver, Joy (Brent) Greening of Calgary, Lori Keyte and Joanne (Derrick) Kyle of Peace River, Alberta; great-grandchildren: Ashton and Sarah, Kyle and Rebecca Stinson; and sister, Doreen Scott of Kelowna. He is predeceased by his parents John Henry and Clara Cherry; sisters: Hazel and Aileen Cherry; brother, Jack Cherry; and son-in-law, Ron Stinson. We are honouring Ray’s wishes that no service be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
