Raymond Leroy Carey passed away on June 22, 2013 at Chilliwack, BC at age 81 years. He was born June 24, 1931 in Agassiz, BC.
Ray is survived by his wife, Joan of 59 years; daughters, Corinne (Al) Dorko, Sandra (Dave) Lee, Gayle (Marvin) Schier; sons, Alan (Linda) and Neil (Lynn); eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Ray spent over 50 years working on the Fraser River, starting out as a Deckhand with RivTow, and ending as a Skipper owner/operator of Scuffler Dredge. He spent many years bowling in various leagues and volunteering his time coaching YBC. He enjoyed many years lake and river fishing and spending time at the family cabin. But most of all, his favourite pastime was spending time with his family. Dad was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him.
A celebration of his life will be held at the family home, 48015 Kitchen Hall Rd, Chilliwack on Saturday, June 29, 2013 from 2:00 til 4:00. If any so desire, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.
