In loving memory of Ramona McGinn November 11, 1929 - February 5, 2010. She was 80 years old.
Ramona McGinn was born in Ukraine, Nov. 11, 1929. In 1930, with her parents, she migrated to Canada landing at Pier 21 in Nova Scotia. They came to Alberta and took a homestead in the Violet Grove area. Ramona lived her childhood years and attended school in Violet Grove. When she was 17 she went to work cooking for twenty men in a logging camp. It was there that she met her future husband, Milton. They married in 1946 and took a homestead east of Rocky Rapids where they resided until 1961. They moved to Chilliwack, BC, and operated a dairy farm. In 1994 Ramona returned to Drayton Valley and spent her retirement years there.
Ramona was predeceased by her parents Sam and Josepha Mikulin and siblings John and Dolly.
Ramona is survived by her husband Milton, six sons and one daughter, Dennis (Av) of Drayton Valley; Dwayne (Diane) of Drayton Valley; Gary of Drayton Valley, Calvin (Linda) of St. Albert, Debbie (Kevin) of Edmonton, Shawn (Shauna) of Drayton Valley and Daryl (Rita) of Edmonton.
Ramona adored her 18 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
