In loving memory ~
Ralph LaBounty passed away peacefully in Chilliwack, BC, on April 12, 2025, at the age of 97. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend, Ralph was known for his kind heart, love of family, and incredible ability to fix just about anything.
Born in Williams Lake, Ralph moved to Chilliwack at the age of 14. At 15 he started working with his dad at Canfor. He spent his career building logging roads and retired at the age of 60. He enjoyed 37 wonderful years of retirement, many of which were spent travelling with his beloved wife Ann in their motorhome, creating treasured memories along the way.
Ralph and Ann had 73 wonderful years together filled with family, friends, and lots of happy hours (root beer or milkshakes for Ralph and martinis for Ann).
Ralph was the family's go-to "Mr. Fixit"—a nickname well earned. His sisters affectionately called him "Mr. Perfect," a nod to his ability to always get things right. He could do nothing wrong in their eyes.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Ann; daughter Pat (Ernie Schepanowsky); grandchildren Tanya (Brian Guenther), Debra (Dave Krol), and Jesse LaBounty; great-grandchildren Morgan Guenther, Alex Krol, Andrew Krol, and Matanna LaBounty; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Ralph was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Dora LaBounty; his siblings Irwin, Herb, Lila, Ruth, Gladys, and June; and his son Wayne and daughter in-law Terri LaBounty.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. We will carry his memory in our hearts forever.
A celebration of life will be planned in the summer of 2025.
