Raj TOOR

October 26, 2004

On Tuesday, October 26 tragedy struck the Toor family and the community of Chilliwack when Raj Toor lost his life in a car accident.

Raj will forever be remembered for his tremendous passion towards bettering the lives of his family, students and community. Throughout his 28 years as a teacher and administrator he touched many lives.

A few highlights of his many accomplishments include developing the first computer programs in the Chilliwack school district and his instrumental role in developing a "dry grad" program for students. In addition, he was also honored for his contributions to the Chilliwack community when he was awarded a Lions Club service award.

Raj Toor dedicated his life to his family and his community. His work with various boards and committees, including the Chilliwack Arts Council, the Chilliwack Health Council and UCFV Board of Governors will be dearly missed.

Raj will be remembered for his accomplishments and commitment to the community. As well, his family and close friends recognize his legacy as a passionate, caring, and dedicated husband, father and son.

His spirit and love of life will be cherished always by his: loving wife, Jitender; parents, Bachan and Karnail Toor; sons, Rob and Kavie; brothers, Herb and John; daughter-in-law, Allison Toor; and his new grandson, Robbie.

A memorial service will be held at 10 am Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004 at the Riverside Funeral Home and Crematorium in Delta, BC. and all are welcome to attend.

A memorial fund is being established in his name to be awarded to graduating students. People are encouraged to contribute to the fund in lieu of flowers.
