Van Reeuwyk, Pietertje
With great sadness we announce the passing on December 21, 2014, of our beloved mother, Pietertje "Pat" Van Reeuwyk, born in Zoetermeer, Netherlands on June 4, 1924. She was predeceased by her husband John (Jan) and sons, Cordell and Ed. She is survived by her children; Marian Dyck, Bill (Jenny) Van Reeuwyk of Abbotsford, Martin Van Reeuwyk, Jeanny Hamilton of North Vancouver, John (Rosanna) Van Reeuwyk of Nanaimo, Theo Van Reeuwyk of
Abbotsford and Jeff Van Reeuwyk of Burnaby as well as 22 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Immigrating to Canada with her husband and three children in 1951 and after a short stay in Lethbridge, Alberta, the family settled in Chilliwack, BC in 1952 where the next six children were born. The early years revolved around her church and her nine children. She later enjoyed working at the family bakery, "Old Dutch" in downtown Chilliwack.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church, 8920 Broadway Street, Chilliwack, BC. Interment will follow at Chilliwack Cemetery, 10010 Hillcrest Drive, Chilliwack. The family would like to thank the Bradley Center for all their loving care these last few years.
