GUNNER, Pieternella Cornelia 1919 - 2014

Pieternella Cornelia Gunner (nee Van der Kolff) was born to Wilhelm and Petronella (Lankester) in Amsterdam, Holland on December 13th, 1919. She passed away in Armstrong, BC on Sunday, October 12th, surrounded by her family.

Nella lived in Arnhem, Holland, London, England and Toronto where she met John Gunner. The couple married in Toronto and settled in Langley, BC. She lived in Langley and on Cortes Island until her health suffered and she made the decision to move to Armstrong to be closer to her family. All through her final years her trademark behaviour remained firmly in place. Nothing fazed her and despite all disasters, Nella was impossibly cheerful and good natured. She will be missed by her sons: Nicholas (Bev Hamilton) and Stephen (Andrea); and her grandchildren: John, Kayla and Zetteh and Jack Lothian, all of Armstrong. She leaves behind one step-sister, Ingeborg and numerous nieces and nephews in Holland. She was predeceased by her sister, Tie; step-sister, Hans; step-brother; Jan and nephew, Tom.

The family would like to thank the staff at Pioneer Square and Pleasant Valley Manor for their devotion and care to Nella and to all of their patients. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at:
