Phyllis McDermott of Chilliwack passed away on June 4, 2003 at the age of 82.
She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Jim) Peskett (nee George) of Pitt Meadows; and one granddaughter Laurie (Chris) Dawkins (nee Jackson) of Point Roberts, WA. Also survived by her ‘grand dog’ Rupert; and her very close friends Gladys (Linde) Lingren of Chilliwack.
She was predeceased by her daughter Judith Jones Carl (nee George) of Penticton in 2002; and her close friend Georgia Martins.
Phyllis was a longtime resident of Chilliwack. She moved here with her parents, Winifred and Cecil Hawkins when she was 10 years old. Phyllis was a volunteer for many years at the White Cane Club, Unique Boutique, St. John’s and St. Thomas Anglican churches.
Services will be held in the St. John’s Anglican Church on Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 11 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations can be made to the Kidney Foundation.
