Peter passed away and went to be with his Lord after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Peter is survived by his loving wife Marguerite, his children Mike Carroll and Liz Enns, Tim Carroll and Wendy Degroot, Rod Carroll, Shaun and Danielle Carroll and grandchildren Ashley Carroll, Tyler Carroll and Brandon Kahl.
Peter was born in Calgary, Alberta and developed a love for trains early in life as his father worked for CP Rail. He also enjoyed playing football as a youngster. At the age of 24 Peter joined the Canadian Armed Forces and shortly thereafter, he met Marguerite at a Catholic youth function. They began their life together and over the years, with their sons,lived in Germany, Calgary, Regina and Chilliwack where he retired from the forces. After that he worked for The Bank of Montreal and The Commissionaires. Peter loved to spend time with his family. He liked to garden and collect model trains and was an avid sports fan. He was known by friends and family for his trademark sense of humor.
The family would like to express their thanks for the compassionate care provided by the staff at The Abbotsford Regional hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Canadian Cancer Society.
Funeral arrangements will be held Thursday, July 21st at 11:00am, St Mary’s Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack.
