March 4, 1944 - November 27, 2020
Born on March 4th 1944 in Wingham, Manitoba. Peter was the oldest of seven siblings. In 1961 Peter joined the Royal Canadian Engineers and took his first posting to CFB Gagetown, NB.
In 1963 he took his first posting to 4Fd Sqn. Germany. In 1966 he was posted back to CFB Gagetown and after a year went back to 4Fd Sqn Germany for a 2nd posting. In 1970 Peter returned to Canada and to Se RGC at CFB Valcartier, PQ.
Peter spent most of his military career at CFB Valcartier, with the exception of three years from 1981 to 1984 where he was posted to CFB Dundurn Sask. From there he returned to CFB Valcartier and in 1987 was posted to CFB Chilliwack where he remained until he took his release in 1999.
Peter met his wife Karen in 1973 while serving at CFB Valcartier and on 20th Dec 1979 his daughter Krista was born.
Peter served with the Corp of Engineers for over 34 years and retired with the rank of Warrant Officer.
Upon retiring from the military Peter began a second career in 1999 driving a school bus for District 33 in Chilliwack. Peter loved hauling the kids around and explaining (the facts of life) to them. He retired from the school board in 2011.
Peter's passions in life were baseball in the earlier years of his military career, and later on Golf (both of which he was very good at). Peters other enjoyment was reading. Any book he got his hands on he read.
Peter was predeceased by his daughter Krista in 2014 and his wife Karen in 2018.
Peter was a people person and will be deeply missed by family, his extended family and his many many friends from coast to coast to coast across Canada.
A celebration of life will be held for Peter some time in the New Year.
