September 17, 1923 - April 26, 2022
Peter Martens was born on Sept. 17, 1923 in Prijut Ukraine, and passed away peacefully in Abbotsford BC on April 26, 2022 at the age of 98.
He was predeceased by his parents Henry and Marie, his sisters Elsie Pauls and Mary Wilson, his daughter Margaret Rose Marie, his sons-in-law Chad Bennington and Gregor Camenzind, and by Hilda, his wife of 67 years.
He is lovingly remembered by daughters Maureen and Judith, grandchildren Monica (Eric), Lukas (Marie), Catherine (Michael), Nina, and great grandchild Arthur.
Peter was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He spent his life building things, not only as a carpenter and construction superintendent, but as a family man and church volunteer. He loved reading, particularly history and biography.
He had a deep Christian faith and lived his life in service to those around him. He was grateful for every blessing in his life and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
