July 29, 1939 - October 20, 2021
Peter Doran Jones was a caring and loving father, grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world suddenly on October 20, 2021 at age 82 in his home in Vernon. Peter was born on July 29, 1939 at Chilliwack BC to Henry and Nell Jones.
He is survived by his sister Barbara and brother David; his children Cathy, Trevor and Quincy; ex-wives Jean Jones and Kathy Demchuck; and 6 grandchildren.
He attended Cheam Elementary School and Chilliwack High School. Peter was always keenly attracted to various types
of machinery as he was inquisitive and loved taking things apart and fixing them or improving them. This led to him becoming an accomplished tractor driver, winning a competition at the PNE and earning a trip to the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto. He was also Champion Junior Plowman at the Chilliwack Plowing Match.
One of his greatest accomplishments was the planning, building and operating of Aloha Coin Wash in Vernon, with his wife at the time, Jean. This highly successful family business was a source of many fine memories. Peter used his unique sense of humour to advertise the coin laundry as being open "8 days a week".
A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 10 at the Vernon Alliance Church. A video recording is available through the church at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKyezFxp4cU
