June 29, 1931 - July 14, 2012

Pearl passed away on July 14, 2012 in Chilliwack at the age of 81 years. Mom was born in Wilcox, Saskatchewan, the third of five children. She grew up on a farm in the midst of the Depression, the family moved to B.C. in 1940, settling in Port Mellon, where her father found work, and where Mom eventually found her future husband Wilf. They were married in Dec. 1952 and in Feb. 1953 she had a daughter, Georgia. They moved to Chilliwack in 1954 so Dad could be part of a family business ‘Graysons Beverages’. Their second daughter, Janice, was born in Chilliwack in 1954.

Mom was a devoted nurturer, she was most happy when she was ‘looking after’ us all of her life. She and Dad had many happy years together on their hobby farm on Kitchen Rd., and then 14 years living on Georgia’s farm on Gibson Rd., spending many days with their beloved granddaughters, Michelle and Lindsay Clement. Their Manning Park cabin was Moms’ favourite place, she and Dad went there every chance they had, many years of happy memories still abound from the years’ at the cabin.

In the later years Moms’ diabetes was to prove challenge for her and those caring for her at Cascade Lodge. Actually.. the word ‘caring’ doesn’t come close to the absolute devotion the staff at Cascade had for both Mom and Dad. Janice, Georgia, and the families cannot begin to say how thankful they are for the compassion of all those at Cascade that did everything they could for Mom in these past days and in the years Mom has called Cascade “home”. There are too many wonderful people there to name but we would like to say a special thank you to Elaine. She has cared for both mom and dad the longest and has been such a support for the family over the years, we do not know how we would have coped without you Elaine. We would liek to thank Dr. Melanie Madill for her years of caring and for being there for Mom when she most needed her.

Mom was predeceased by her husband Wilf Gray, her siblings, Lorraine, Murray and Chuck, she is survived by her daughters Georgia Clement, Janice Gray (Doug Hendry), her granddaughters Michelle Clement (Ben) and Lindsay Clement (Shawn) and her beloved sister Bev Campbell.

At Moms request the family will hold a private service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetic Association.

We love you Mom and we love you Nana.
