October 13, 1940 - May 6, 2025

In loving memory ~

On May 6, 2025 Paul Raymond Richardson passed away peacefully in his home. His wife of 36 years, Gail Vodden and family were by his side.

Paul was born on October 13,1940 in Trenton Ontario into a military family and one of 9 children. Paul followed in his father's footsteps and earned the rank of Master Corporal in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Recreational Specialist. His love of fitness and sports enabled him to manage and deliver recreational events to military personal and surrounding communities. Communities such as. Borden and Moosonee Ontario, Beaver Lodge and Grand Prairie Alberta, and finally Chilliwack, BC all benefited from his presence.

After 15 years of service, Paul left the military to explored his entrepreneurial skills, and founded Richardson Motors in Chilliwack.

He continued his love of sports sponsoring and playing Fastball and Hockey with the Richardson Raiders. Paul also committed to his physical development and competed at a National Level in Power Lifting.

Paul loved and raised three children: Mary (David)Casey, Paula (Scott) Maguire; and Mark (Mary) Vodden). Paul's work ethic and integrity guided each of his children towards successful careers and family lives of their own. Paul also leaves behind 7 grandchildren (Kieren and Thea Casey; Emma, Josh, and Sam Maquire; Kate and Clara Vodden) each of whom brought smiles to his face and love into his heart.

Paul and Gail joined families in 1989 and worked side by side creating a life of happy times and joyous memories. They built a home in the beautiful Chilliwack River Valley then later re-located to Fairfield Island in Chilliwack. Retirement to the Okanagan was always a dream, so in 2016 they moved to Osoyoos. They built their final home overlooking Lake Osoyoos and settled quickly into a friend filled and caring community.

A celebration of Paul's life will be held on Sunday, May 18 beginning at 12noon at the Elks Hall in Osoyoos.
