October 14, 2010

Aug. 22, 1939 - Oct. 14, 2010

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Paul. After a courageous battle with cancer and enduring the loss of the love of his life, Joan, Paul passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2010 in Chilliwack.

Dad is predeceased by his father, Sydney, mother, Myra and his loving wife of 49 years, Joan. Paul is survived by his 2 children, Stephen (Michelle), and Kim (Dan); his brother David (Faye); his sisters-in-law Frances and Beth; his adored grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Alycia and Lauren; also his nieces and nephews spread across Canada and the US.

Paul was a wonderful husband, father, brother, papa, uncle, coach and friend. Always there when you needed him, Dad was incredibly talented and hard working. He was a self taught craftsman and woodworker who took pride in his amazing work. Am all around athlete, he enjoyed playing many sports, but hockey was his specialty. He was a terrific coach and player which endeared him to anyone who had the good fortune to play alongside him. Dad had a huge heart that was broken when we lost Mom in July. He was a strong man who never gave in to anything and was always just a phone call away. Paul leaves a lasting legacy of kindness, giving, warm hospitality and love. A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 at 2:00-5:00pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 280, 5661 Vedder Rd., Chilliwack. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Cascade Hospice in Paul’s name would be greatly appreciated.
