Patrick Joseph McGuire passed away, surrounded by his loving family and friends on November 28, 2004 at the Chilliwack General Hospital at the age of 49 years. Pat was born on July 9, 1955 at Belle River, Ontario.
Beloved husband and best friend of Linda (Tracey) of 26 years, wonderful and cherished father of Tiffanie and Shawn. Son of the Theodore (1994) and Gertrude McGuire of Belle River, Ontario and son-in-law of the late Lawrence (1992) and Gert (1999) Tracey of Woodslee, Ontario. Loved brother of Michael and Gilbert McGuire and Mary Ellen Piwowarski. Loved brother-in-law of Barbara and Debbie McGuire and Walter Piwowarski and uncle to Kelly, Melanie, Josh, Tyler, Aaron and Ashley Lynn. Loved friend and brother-in-law of Pat and Bob Mullins, Larry and Sandy Tracey, Helen and Lou Carbone, Bob and Diane Tracey, John and Theresa Tracey, Ken and Chris Tracey, Joe and Beck Tracey, the late Leonard (2003) and Diane Diemer, Cathy and Jim Johnson and uncle and great uncle to many.
Pat will be remembered for his hard work and his kind and gentle nature, his years of coaching minor hockey and lacrosse, his 23 years of installing floors through Pioneer Buildall, his love of life, love of family, love of friends and love of community will be with us always when we gather together and share stories and fond memories of Pat.
Pat and his family would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Dr. Esmail, Dr. McFayden and the very caring nurses at Chilliwack General Hospital and to Dr. Kostashuk and Dr. Coppin at the Surrey Cancer Centre. Our heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for their love and support and prayers through Pat’s short but hard fought battle with cancer.
We will be celebrating his life at a Funeral Mass at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chilliwack, B.C. on Thursday, December 2, 2004 at 10:00 am with Father Gary Gordon, Celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Palliative Care at the Chilliwack General Hospital or to the B.C. Cancer Foundations may be made.
