Pat passed away peacefully on the morning of Monday, December 7, 2009 at Chilliwack General Hospital after a sudden, but brief illness. Pat was born December 11, 1927 in Aldershot, England. Pat spent 16 years of her life in India when her parents were stationed there during the war.
Pat had an incredible talent for knitting. She was rarely found in public without a set of knitting needles either in her hand or in her knitting bag. She also had a love for music, bingo, Avon & animals, especially her kitties. Pat will be fondly remembered by the many friends she made throughout the years.
Pat is survived by her 3 daughters; Pat Marcell; Winnipeg, Ann Hanson (Kevin); Chilliwack, and Catherine (Cathy) Ernst (Mike Schram); Cranbrook, grandchildren; Adrienne and Justin, Dallas and Shane, Dean and Ashley and a great-grandson; Mayson.
She was predeceased by her parents and by her husband William (Bill) Ernst on December 7, 2008.
Pat’s family would like to thank Dr. Bull for his care of mom over the years. The family would especially like to thank the staff of the 3rd floor nursing unit for their kindness and compassion during mom’s brief stay in the hospital.
A public viewing will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home, Chilliwack, Thursday, December 10 from 6-8 pm. Memorial service to be held Friday, December 11, 2009 at 1:30 pm at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles St., Chilliwack, Pastor Dean Andersen officiating. Please join the family following the service for coffee & refreshments and a time to share memories of Pat. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Brain Injury Society or the SPCA would be greatly appreciated.
Interment will take place in Cranbrook, BC at a later date.
