As dawn broke over the Cheam Mountain Range and sunbeams streamed through the windows onto her hospital bed our precious mother, Patricia Leah Good (nee Griffin), passed away surrounded by the love of her sister and children.
Mom was born in Victoria, BC and as the daughter, wife, and mother of Canadian Navy sailors, she always approached changes in her life with a sense of adventure, whether it was numerous moves across the country or supporting Dad in his many endeavours as a realtor, business owner or all around 'jack of all trades, but master of none'. She took great pleasure in caring for her grandchildren and RV trips with Dad.
Mom had a wicked sense of humour and loved crosswords. As her physical body failed her, she remained sharp as a whip, even fixing her hair, and flirting with the paramedics as they took her to the hospital for what ended up being the final time.
Pat leaves behind her children Jacqueline (Jim), David (Sharra), Tracey, Leah (Daryl), Judi, her sister Gale (son Aaron). Grandchildren Chris, Josh (Krystal), Jamie, Sarah (Devon), Allen (Paige), Janis, Hailey, Josh, Jade, Jenna, and Kyana. Great-grandchildren Serenity, Jackson, Raury, Kaleb, Brynley, and Theodore. Sisters-in-law, Judy (Rick), Kitty, MaryAnn, Gloria (Jim), brother-in-law Donald (Sylvia), favourite cousin Gary, and many more extended family members through blood, marriage, or choice.
Mom was predeceased by our father, Jack Williamson Good, mother Clara, father Mike, and brothers Lynn and Ken.
As a sufferer of lung disease, COVID-19 scared the hell out of Mom and she was enjoying outings again after being fully vaccinated. She recently travelled to Victoria for her fathers funeral and what ended up being her last hurrah. Alas, her body just couldn't hold out any longer, but we are sure she is not in pain anymore and can breathe freely again.
The family would like to express our sincere thanks to all the medical personnel who have supported mom over the years, Dr. Rose, the BC Ambulance Service, home support, and especially the caring professionals at CGH - the staff on 4 North and Dr. Van der Watt, who helped keep Mom comfortable in her final days.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday September 17, 2021 at 3:00pm at the Chilliwack Curling Club, Rev. Angus Haggerty officiating.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Terry Fox Foundation in memory of Mom.
Give Dad big hugs for us Mom. We will miss you both always.
