September 4, 1932 - May 6, 2024
Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, was born in North Vancouver, BC. and moved to Ontario in her early 20's when she joined the Armed Forces.
Pat returned to British Columbia with her family in 1967 and dedicated much of her professional life as a legal secretary working in a firm in Langley for her later years. Following retirement, she found joy in serving as a marriage commissioner, a role that resonated with her passion for acting and directing, nurtured during her years with the Langley Players Guild.
Pat was predeceased in 1986 by her husband John Bird and survived by her children, Heather (Brian) Rollins, Douglas Bird, and Carol-Ann (Russell) Drummond. She loved her grandchildren: Scott Mason, Kelsey Drummond, Cameron (Julia) Drummond, and great-grandson Liam Drummond, son of Cameron and Julia.
Pat's vibrant character left an indelible mark on those around her. Described as exciting, funny, and dynamic, she possessed a kind nature beneath a resilient exterior.
A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held on June 30th at the Chilliwack Golf Course at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to the Alzheimer's Society of British Columbia or Community Animal Projects in Chilliwack.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Valleyhaven for their exceptional care and kindness over the past four years.
