Brad passed away peacefully while surrounded by family after a long and courageous battle with diabetes and other health challenges. He was born on August 22, 1955 in Kelowna B.C. as first born to Owen and Donna Nelmes.
He is lovingly remembered and survived by daughters Jodi Nelmes, Jackie Nelmes (Nick), Carly Nelmes (Geoff), sister, Mary-Ann Clift - "Curdsy" (Doug), and brother Jeff Nelmes. Brad was proud of his grandchildren - Jayden, Reece, George, Theo and Taylah.
Also holding a special place in his life was his former wife of 28 years and mother of his children, Cathy McNabb. Their friendship went beyond their time as partners and lasted till his last breath. He was predeceased by his parents, Owen and Donna Nelmes and baby brother Andrew, who passed away in 1959 from cystic fibrosis.
Throughout his life, Brad took great pride in his work on local infrastructure throughout B.C. and the Yukon, his fingerprints are on the roads, bridges, and landmarks that make Chilliwack and communities across B.C.
Brad will be missed by his family who loved him dearly.
Celebration of life will be held on August 24, 2025 at 1 PM at the Chilliwack curling club 45550 Spadina Ave, Chilliwack B.C.
