June 1, 1939 – February 21, 2021
Peacefully, on the morning of Sunday February 21, 2021, Otto passed from this earth to join his wife and other family members. Born June 1, 1939 in Karlsruhe, Germany, Otto landed in Canada on June 27, 1956 for a journey of new adventures which eventually brought him across the country to settle on the west side in Vancouver.
He married the love of his life, Marlene and enjoyed many years of city life while travelling the world, experiencing exotic vacations. Otto and Marlene’s travels included many cruises and regular destinations such as Cuba and Hawaii.
As a professional auto mechanic for many years, Otto mastered his trade and took pride in being able to fix any problem that could challenge a car owner. In 1981, Otto and Marlene purchased a small farm in Chilliwack where they joined in a vibrant community, loved entertaining, and supplied vegetables grown with love to others.
With strong opinions and a zest for humour, Otto developed many friendships. Although some were challenged by his unique personality, those who knew Otto saw the caring heart he had for others.
Predeceased by wife his wife (Marlene), his parents (Felix and Maria), his brothers Wilfred and Sieghart, and his sisters, Eleanore and Klara. Otto leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family that will forever miss him.
An online celebration of life is being planned for March 14th. For details, please email firstname.lastname@example.org
