Otto Goetz passed away on Friday, February 5th, 2010 at Chilliwack at age 80 years. He was born November 6th 1929 in Tuningen, Germany.
Otto is survived by his daughter Sabine Goetz, son Thomas Goetz (Robin) and granddaughter Megan, also his sister Lotte Scheytt (Maulbronn, Germany).
He was predeceased by his wife of 45 years, Gerda (Nee Messner) in 2005, brother Max Götz (Stuttgart, Germany) in 2001 and his mother Rosa Götz (Tuningen, Germany) in 2008.
Otto immigrated to Canada in 1953 and lived in Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, and White Plains NY before settling his family in North Vancouver, BC in 1970. He owned an electrical contracting business “Goetz Electric” until 1980 when he decided to take early retirement to become a farmer, to raise first Charlotte Cattle then Sheep. He had a passion for gardening, building and the stock market! Otto and Gerda lived in Chilliwack for over 25 years.
