Orin Timothy (Tim) Stewart late of Columbia Valley, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at the age of 63 years. Tim was born May 23, 1939 in High Prairie, AB. He lived in Driftpile, AB until 1949 at which time the family moved to the Salmon Arm district. After Tim’s father passed away in 1956, he moved to Columbia Valley. He resided here intermittently until 1970 when he moved on to his farm where lived out his life. His dream was to plant his whole farm in Christmas trees and this goal was fulfilled in the spring of 2002. Prior to starting the tree farm, Tim worked as a bulldozer owner/operator. For many years he donated Christmas trees to local Brownie groups and schools. He loved to garden in his spare time, the bigger the garden, the better. A funeral service will be held at the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 at 11 a.m. Pastor Jim Wyman officiating. Cremation, Valley Crematorium. Tim will be deeply missed by his wife Mary; and children, Twyla Harder, Tanya (Wes) Henderson, Allwyn Stewart, Donna (Ben) McKay, Doreen Holt, Jason Stewart, and Jeff Stewart; nine grandchildren; his mother Myrtle Dorko; three sisters, Margaret Bolen, Mary Lee Stewart, and Paula Weir; three brothers, John Stewart, Alva Stewart, and Glen Stewart; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Alva Stewart in 1956; and his step-father Ed Dorko in 1994. Should family and friends so desire, donations in Tim’s memory may be made to the B.C. Children’s Hospital.
